Client of the Month – Marlac Electronics, Inc.

We are pleased to announce our client of the month for September, Marlac Electronics, Inc., a distributor of a broad line of electronic components. Founded in 1979 by Maryanne Lacanfora, hence the name Marlac, they are a woman owned business that started out on Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia, then moved to Palmyra, New Jersey and then to Moorestown, New Jersey, where they are presently located. Maryanne passed away in 1989 and Laura Leary took over as president. The company still remains woman owned/operated and is now owned by Joanne Smith-Lacanfora. They are housed in a 15,000 square foot building, 9600 feet of which houses their offices and the rest is warehouse space. They are very proud of the fact that several of their employees have been with them since the business began in 1979!

Besides electronic components, they also do value added products in customer cable assemblies and wire harnesses. In fact, they have a contract with a major telecommunications company to do kitting as well as bonded inventory and bar coding. Their proudest accomplishment from a quality standpoint has been to become ISO certified. This was a long and arduous road, but they managed to get it done and keep up with the certification process every year. For more information, check out their website at www.marlac.com.
